So i recently got another job as a waiter at a chinese restaurant called "The Jasmine". My first "real job" according to my mum. the pay is of course under minimum wage but its taxed free but any pay for me at the moment is fine, just looking for experience. Since most work place always ask you have you ever work in the industry before, and chances of hiring is always higher if you have.Anyways, my work environment is really nice, the workers are really nice and helpful but sometimes i fail to understand due to my lacking in cantonese. But most of the costumers are white so its not a huge disadvantage for me. The manager is quite nice and isnt strict at all. The best thing is that nobody there is bossy, they always ask you if you can help them rather than ordering you around. Most of the time, you just gotta be smart and quick on your feet. and you actually need to use all 5 sense, mostly sight and hearing. i think the most relaxing part of working is the fact that they play instrumental music and its really does set the mood even for us workers. Working is really different, you actually meet at lot of interesting characters. It provides really good insight and they are constantly talking (in cantonese of course) about self-character, other industry related jobs, since most of them have another job during the day-time like real estate, banking etc. Anyways, got my uni finals coming up soon, in 9 days to be exact. idks if im ready for not sigh. just hoping my wam doesnt drop too much, no more than 2-5.
